Kees Schaddellee Sr and his wife Mable arrived in Victoria from the Netherlands in 1955 with their 4 sons. A year later, their two oldest sons, Arie T. and Jack began the Dutch Bakery dynasty when they rented a coffee shop on Fort Street.

Not long after, their younger brothers Kees Jr. and Maarten joined. And over time their wives and children joined in the family business as well. And the rest is history!
